Yvonne Locke
Yvonne qualified as a General Nurse in
Blackpool and currently works for the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust
NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Northern General Hospital.
Yvonne’s background is in the Intensive Care setting – both general and
cardiac as a staff nurse and then a sister. She has certificates in
General Intensive Care, transplant nursing and Health care research. In
2003 , Yvonne gained her M.Med.Sci in Palliative Care from Sheffield
University. She worked as the Senior Recipient Co-ordinator within the
Heart and Lung transplant Unit in Sheffield for 12 years.
At present Yvonne works full time in the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit
providing care and support for the Cystic Fibrosis patients and their
families. She is able to utilise her skills obtained in the palliative
care setting and throughout the transplant process to provide expert
specialist care for these chronically sick young people. Yvonne can also
use her research skills for several research projects within the unit.
